Introduction

Hello, students! My name is Phillip and I’m from a smallish town in Minnesota close to Fargo. Before coming to Japan, I spent several years teaching in South Korea at a foreign language university. I met my wife in Seoul at a salsa dance class and together we decided to live in Tokyo. I think one of my strong points as a teacher is being able to talk about both “high-brow” and “low-brow” topics, so whether you’re interested in literature, comedy, movies, design, fight sports or psychology, I’m sure we can find common ground.
