Introduction
I’m from Toronto, Canada, and for the past five years, I’ve been living in Sanda City, Hyogo, while teaching at Kwansei Gakuin University. Before that, I taught at other universities in Japan as well as at Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea. In Japan, I’ve lived in Hyogo, Akita, Gifu, Kanagawa, and Tokyo. Prior to teaching at universities, I worked at junior high schools and high schools. In fact, when I first moved to Japan, I was a high school ALT with the JET Program for three years at Omagari Agricultural High School and for two years at Omagari High School, both in Akita. While living there, I enjoyed snowboarding in the region’s heavy snowfall. I received my bachelor degree from the University of Toronto in History, and my master’s from Glasgow University in English Language-Linguistics Outside of teaching, I also enjoy taking cycling trips, hiking, and traveling around Japan.
